Our Story

Who We Are

FTPP is a non-profit organization based in San Diego, CA. We dedicate our cause to planting fruit trees around our community. Our aim is to teach members of the community the value of contributing to the environment in proactive ways.

We believe that every tree planted is a promise to future generations—a promise of food, clean air, and a stronger community.

Why Trees Matter

Traffic Calming

Tree-lined streets have a traffic calming effect, making neighborhoods safer and more peaceful.

Water Management

Trees slow water runoff and help prevent flash flooding, recharging underground aquifers.

Soil Protection

Root systems bind soil and leaves provide barriers to wind and rain, preventing erosion.

Noise Reduction

Strategically planted trees can significantly reduce noise pollution in urban areas.

Natural Cooling

Trees can cool cities by up to 10°F by shading and releasing water vapor into the air.

Our Mission

What We Do

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide food to alleviate hunger and to enrich the soil as well as the air and water cycles of the earth so we can combat pollution.

Our programs seek to donate trees, training, and aftercare where the harvest will best serve communities for generations—including public schools, city parks, community gardens, food banks, and low-income neighborhoods.

The Benefits

  • Strengthen our sense of community
  • Help the environment and combat climate change
  • Bring awareness to new generations about caring for trees
  • Witness the value of watching something grow

Our Approach

  • Organize monthly planting events with volunteers
  • Seek donations to buy trees, food, and tools
  • Ensure trees are native to the land
